Loudon County first · statewide referrals are separate
Where can I take waste, test my well, or ask for help?
Source-backed routes, not confirmed appointments
Local disposal coverage is Loudon County, Tennessee, alongside the existing Matlock Bend dossier. This is not a complete Tennessee directory. Provider and agency pages were retrieved October 5, 2026; raw responses, exact quotations and failures are archived. Prices and service wording are what those pages published, not a quote or a guarantee that a provider can serve you today.
Online intake is disabled on this site. Choose a provider or official agency below and submit there yourself. We do not send requests, collect samples, book services, store your draft, or process payments. For immediate danger call 911; do not touch unknown waste or enter a site to document it.
1. Waste and difficult materials: Loudon County options
Call before loading or travelling: describe the item, amount, household/business origin, and where you live. Ask about fees, residency proof, holidays, appointments and unloading help. The county page does not publish those terms; unknown does not mean free or accepted. It excludes commercial and demolition waste, yard waste, wood, dead animals and biological waste. Tires and mattresses are not listed as accepted: ask for an approved route instead of leaving them at a gate. [L01]
Loudon Convenience Center — recycling and special HHW window
300 Rock Quarry Road, Loudon, TN 37774. Published regular hours: Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–6 p.m.; closed county holidays. Regular listed materials include metal appliances, electronics/TVs, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, used motor oil/filters and antifreeze. Fees, volume limits and residency requirements: not published in the retrieved page.
Oil-based paint and household hazardous waste (HHW): Monday–Wednesday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. only. The same county page also lists household chemicals/hazardous waste under general exclusions. Do not treat the special window as permission for every chemical: call and confirm your exact item and the special collection before travel. Business/demolition waste is excluded. [L01]
Lenoir City Convenience Center — second local drop-off
500 Halls Ferry Road, Lenoir City, TN 37771. Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–6 p.m.; closed county holidays. The county's regular accepted-material list and exclusions above apply. Do not bring oil-based paint or assume this is an HHW site: that special county window is at Loudon only. Fees, quantity limits, residency proof and appointment rules are not published. [L01]
Greenback Convenience Center — third local drop-off
3840 Highway 95 South, Greenback, TN 37742. Tuesday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–6 p.m.; closed county holidays. The county's regular materials list and exclusions above apply; oil-based paint/HHW is not promised here. Fees, quantities, residency proof and appointment rules are not published. [L01]
Statewide referral: TDEC mobile household hazardous waste collections
Any Tennessee resident may participate, households only. No commercial, institutional or agri-business waste; no explosives, ammunition, radioactive or medical waste. Published examples include pesticides, paint thinner, pool chemicals and automotive fluids. The official page has the accepted/excluded lists and a schedule link. [L18]
No event location, date, fee or appointment is promised here. The linked schedule/container pages returned 404 during this check. Use the working program page or call TDEC for a currently operating event, its exact address/hours, fees and item acceptance. Do not infer a local event from an old calendar. Keep chemicals separate in original containers; follow TDEC's transport instructions. [L32–L33 failures]
Copy the item-acceptance call checklist. No verified tire/mattress or bulk-demolition receiving route, current price, transport assistance or pickup appointment was established in this slice. Call the county centers for referral; never assume Matlock Bend accepts your load.
2. Private-well testing: two household mail-in choices and a no-charge referral
These providers expressly describe household/private-well sampling. They are not local walk-in labs and are not proof that your water is safe, unsafe, or affected by a facility. Before collecting, confirm the right analytes, bottles, preservation, collection day, return label, holding time and lab eligibility for your intended use. Follow the provider's kit instructions, not a generic sampling recipe. Copy a lab inquiry.
National Testing Laboratories: WaterCheck Standard
Provider describes this as informational testing for a homeowner's private well or spring. Published price: $255, outbound delivery included in the 48 contiguous states; next-day sample return shipping costs extra (amount not published). Published 87-item panel includes total coliform/E. coli, metals including lead/arsenic/uranium, nitrate, physical factors, VOCs and trihalomethanes. It is not a universal contaminant screen. [L05]
How to submit: review the kit page, contact NTL to confirm the kit and return shipping, obtain the kit yourself, then follow the supplied instructions and complete its lab form. The linked instructions specify same-day guaranteed next-day shipping, no Friday/weekend/day-before-national-holiday collection or shipping, and receipt within 24 hours for valid bacteria results. The published receiving address is 556 South Mansfield Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48197; confirm it with your kit before mailing. The PDF renders clearly, but its extracted text has overlapping layers: the timing instructions were visually checked on page 1. Use the current kit and call if anything conflicts. [L21, instructions pp. 1–2]
Certification limitation: the provider publishes a certification directory and Tennessee certificate link. We have not independently established current Tennessee approval for this lab/method/analyte or suitability for legal/regulatory use. Ask for current documentation and a compliance package if needed; the homeowner package is informational. [L14–L22]
Provider describes this kit for a private or shared well. Published price: $209; standard shipping both ways is included. The listed 54 analytes include total coliform/E. coli, nitrate/nitrite, metals including lead/arsenic/uranium, minerals and physical properties. Some listed parameters are calculated or self-tested; this is not the VOC/PFAS panel. Overnight options exist; any extra cost is not established here. [L06]
How to submit: review the kit with provider support, obtain it yourself, collect with its supplied bottles/instructions, and return using the kit's shipping label. Standard published return shipping is two-day FedEx; the provider routes samples to a lab in its network. Do not send to a guessed lab address or copy NTL's 24-hour rule. A numerical holding time and this kit's assigned lab/address were not established from the retrieved page; ask support before collection.
Certification limitation: Tap Score says its network labs are ISO/IEC 17025 certified, but Tap Score is not itself a lab, and informational kits are not automatically approved for a Tennessee method/analyte or regulatory submission. Request the assigned lab's current accreditation and suitable certified/compliance option if needed. This is provider wording, not independent current accreditation verification. [L15]
3. Report concerns or request existing records yourself
Choose the route matching the concern. A litter reminder is not a facility complaint; a records request asks for existing records, not an investigation. Include location, date, observable facts and any safely obtained documentation, not an unproven allegation of causation. Written complaints can become public records: keep medical details, other people's addresses and children's information out of unnecessary attachments. Unsent complaint draft · Unsent records draft.
Loudon County: local dumping or road-litter routing
The county's official general contact route is 865-458-4664 or [email protected], and its contact page has a visitor-operated form. Ask which office handles your location and concern, and obtain the appropriate complaint route/reference number. This is routing, not a verified enforcement intake or promise of cleanup. Do not use it as emergency dispatch. [L35]
The TDOT campaign's hotline is 877-854-8837. Its instructions require a Tennessee vehicle plate and apply to witnessed littering from a vehicle. The campaign says a report sends a reminder letter, not an automatic fine. This is not a hazardous-dump removal service. The online form link led to a TDOT page without a usable form in our retrieved response: use the hotline or confirm the form on the official campaign page. [L24–L34]
Facility waste, water pollution or well concerns: TDEC Knoxville routing
The Knoxville field office covers Loudon County: 3711 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37921; 865-594-6035, office hours were not published in the retrieved page. Its Solid Waste section covers oversight of solid/hazardous waste activities; Water Resources handles water concerns. For a private-well concern, ask for the right water staff and technical referral; testing and an investigation are not guaranteed. [L10]
TDEC's water complaint page allows informal water-quality complaints via Ask TDEC, 888-891-8332, or a letter to Division of Water Resources, Davy Crockett Tower–9th Floor, 500 James Robertson Parkway, Nashville, TN 37243. Ask TDEC cannot accept formal complaints, appeals or other legal filings; ask staff for the proper route if you need one. Written complaints, including the complainant's name, may be disclosed as public records. [L28–L29]
County-held records: Loudon County records request
The current county page publishes [email protected] and fax 865-458-1784. Its linked Mayor's Office policy requires Tennessee citizenship documentation and a written form for copies; inspection and copy rules differ. Ask for an estimate before paid copies. The older policy's email spelling and suite numbers differ from the current page: use the current page for email and call 865-458-4664 to confirm custodian/address before mailing or sharing identity documents. The policy does not establish rules for every independent county office. [L04–L19]
TDEC-held facility / water records: state public-records portal
Use TDEC's official records page, then its linked public-records form. The form URL returned HTTP 200 with a TDEC public-records form configuration; no submission or agency response was tested. Describe existing permits, inspections, complaints or monitoring records, the facility/location and date range. Read the portal's citizenship/identification requirements and request any copy-cost estimate before agreeing to pay; no fee waiver is promised. If the embedded form fails, call TDEC 888-891-8332 for the records coordinator. [L02–L25]
CU publishes service for rural homeowners in Tennessee and six other states. It describes an in-person well/septic assessment, staff-collected sample sent to a certified third-party lab, results explanation and repair referrals, at no charge. Its lending page says the check has no income limit. This is not a guaranteed appointment or a promise that every analyte is included. Lab identity/current certification, analyte panel, capacity and appointment timing must be confirmed with CU. [L23][L12]
How to request: open the assessment page, choose Tennessee and Well Assessment / Septic Assessment in its provider-operated contact form, or call Brett Capps, 865-995-8168. Describe your rural location, concern and access needs; ask whether your property is covered, whether lab testing is included and what you will receive. Do not collect a sample unless CU instructs you to. Copy a request checklist.
Communities Unlimited: repayable household well / septic loan
Tennessee is listed as eligible. Published requirements: own and live in the home (or be buying it); rural community of 50,000 or fewer people; existing home, not new construction; household income at or below 60% of the state median non-metropolitan household income, counting everyone in the home over 18. Renters are not eligible for this loan. The retrieved Tennessee table lists $34,345 as the household limit ($57,241 rural median); its effective year is not shown, so confirm the current limit with CU. [L12]
Published terms: up to $15,000, 1% fixed interest, up to 20 years; additional fees and collateral requirements were not published in the retrieved page and must be confirmed. Income verification and a contractor’s written estimate are required. This is a loan, not a household grant; confirm current fees, underwriting, funding and terms before applying.
How to apply: review the provider page and its application, prepare ownership/income information and licensed-contractor estimates, and submit directly to CU only if you choose to. Use the page’s Name/State/Phone/Email inquiry form to request a callback from loan officer Alexandria Cordero, 956-476-8833, or ask CU at 479-443-2700 for help or a printed application. Do not send financial documents to this site.
Not household assistance: nonprofit/government waste-reduction grants are for eligible organizations, not direct household vouchers. No active household cleanup/disposal grant, transport subsidy or tire/mattress fee waiver was verified here. USDA Section 504 pages were blocked (403), so no current USDA price, eligibility or award is asserted. [L08–L20 failures] Existing duties versus proposed policy remain distinct: a linked program or policy proposal does not create a new entitlement or a county service.

Print this page or print/edit the unsent checklists; they work without JavaScript. The older general records and policy templates remain available. Keep your own submission receipt/reference number. A draft, a link or a test result is not a sent request, paid service, appointment, environmental finding or successful cleanup.
